It's a trap! The final piece of the original trilogy is complete! Star Wars: Return of the Jedi is made with Perler Beads on a 16 x 20 painted canvas. The trilogy is complete!
Congratulations to our pal Jeffrey in Orlando, FL! He's this week's winner and requested Dipper and Mabel from the animated series Gravity Falls. Well done, Jeffrey! There's a new Pixel Prize winner every Friday. Who will be next?
Who ya gonna call? I really enjoy the simplicity of this one. The uniforms across the board, the blue background, and trying to portray the subtle differences between Ray and Venkman's hair. Perler beads on a 12 x 9 inch painted canvas.
Congrats to our friend Hannah in Tennessee - the latest winner of the weekly Pixel Prize! She requested Link from the Legend of Zelda series. His next quest involves traveling through the U.S. Postal Service!
Every Friday, someone who likes the Pixel Art Shop's Facebook page is selected to receive a complimentary character of their choice. Send me a message and it could be you! And the award for second best rogues gallery goes to your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!
Perler Beads on a 16 x 20 painted canvas. "Life sucks, Brendon. That's your lesson. Go enjoy it."
Before he was Archer and Bob Belcher, Jon Benjamin and I used to hang out on a soccer field. Home Movies is a timeless gem of a series that connects with me on so many levels. It also has the most natural dialogue I've ever heard. If I was forced to only re-watch one show for the rest of my life, it would be tough not to pick this one. Here's to Jason, Brendan, Melissa, and Coach McGuirk. 12 x 9 inches, Perler Beads on a painted canvas. Congratulations to Bretta in Indiana! She's this week's winner of the Pixel Prize and she selected a Dalek. A fun piece to make and a bit out of the ordinary for me as Dr. Who is one of the few nerdy things I haven't seem to get into. Hopefully I did justice to what I assume is a race of mutated R2-D2s.
That two out of three down! Notes:
I learned of a great controversy while making this piece. Is Han's Hoth jacket brown or blue? Answer: Actual jacket was brown but due to the filters used to give the scenes a "colder" feeling, it often appears blue. I don't know about you but my action figure had a blue jacket and that settled it for me. Bonus points for the Millennium Falcon turning out so well. Boba Fett was a tricky one. Lots of detail on that guy and there's always a bit of pressure when it's such a popular character. Special cameo: Ghost Ben. 16 x 20 inches, Perler Beads on a painted canvas. |
